Eureka Has a Good Idea

I went to Best Buy the other day to physically check out some laptops before ordering one online. I'm a gadget and tech freak, so I had to wander around the store for an hour or so. Turns out digital cameras got cheap this year. DVDs did not. And the majority of U.S. carrier subsidized mobiles are still shit. But I did find the complete, directors edition of Aeon Flux(the cartoon, not the movie) on UMD for $7.99. I couldn't pass that up.

Since no one is ever back there, I strolled through the home and kitchen appliance section. I was hoping to find a cool iron, but they didn't have anything worth noting. Next to the irons on the back wall, I discovered the Eureka Uno, pictured at right. See that yellow wand on the side? It's a dusting wand. Once you are finished using it, replace it in it's caddy, pull the lever on the side, and the vacuum cleans it. Brilliant! I wish my vacuum cleaner had something like this. Unfortunately the Eureka Uno as a whole gets poor reviews on the Best Buy website.

From everything I've heard, Dyson still makes the best vacuums. And I still dream of getting one someday when I can afford to drop half a grand on one. But they don't have this feature. I'd really like to see them incorporate something like this on a machine. Or someone could make a stand alone dusting unit, I suppose. I'd be tempted to buy one.
