Book of Holding

Amazon released the new Kindle DX on Wednesday. Here's Gizmodo's coverage. Bigger and better in all the usual ways. But check out the fifth bullet point: native PDF support. That is total win. And I would buy one(or maybe the smaller Kindle 2) if it didn't cost a significant portion of my monthly income.

With a friend's recent interest in trying out Dungeon's & Dragons since he missed out in his formative geek days, I've been looking over some of their offerings, which include PDFs. Putting these two things together, and I imagine a near perfect gaming library. All of your resource books on a searchable, bookmarkable device that includes a keyboard. That just happens to be smaller and lighter than one guide book, let alone a laptop. Sounds good to me.

Too bad Wizards of the Coast have pulled all sales of PDF versions of their product. When Hasbro's corporate lawyers rolled for learning from other industry's mistakes, they obviously rolled a 1.
